Workday Analyst - Remote

Job Description:

This position is remote and will require occasional travel to the Greater Richmond Area.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Workday / HCM Analyst will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and maintenance of Workday. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, providing both technical and analytical support to functional departments and ensuring optimal system functionality. This role requires expertise in Workday modules, data analytics, and HR processes, as well as a proactive approach to continuous improvement and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will also mentor other team members and drive enhancements to improve the user experience.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and oversee the Workday system, ensuring optimal performance and functionality across the organization.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all Workday-related issues, inquiries, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with HR and IT teams to identify system enhancements, updates, and align Workday with business processes.
  • Develop and maintain custom Workday reports and dashboards to support decision-making and HR analytics.
  • Conduct regular data integrity audits and ensure accurate HR data across Workday modules (HCM, Payroll, Recruiting, Benefits, etc.).
  • Lead Workday system enhancements, process recommendations and deployments leveraging platform capabilities to meet business needs.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to team members on Workday best practices and functionality.
  • Stay current on Workday updates and releases, making recommendations for implementation based on organizational needs.
  • Partner with functional teams to improve HR processes through Workday and recommend system improvements for efficiency.
  • Actively participate in testing, implementing, and monitoring system upgrades and new functionalities.
  • Provide support and analysis on human capital trends, forecast HR metrics, and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Lead strategic projects to implement innovative solutions and improve HR data management.
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy regulations, and company policies.
  • Mentor team members and facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions across functional teams.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in Workday HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking, Performance Management, Recruiting, Absence, Benefits, Compensation, and Learning modules.
  • Strong experience in data analytics, reporting, and performance metrics development.
  • Experience with Workday integrations and working with third-party applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to Workday and other HR systems.
  • Complete all required, ongoing enterprise level training including, but not limited to BSA, OFAC, and Information Security.
  • Report all Risk Management Policy violations in accordance with policy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement process improvements.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data management and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and departments.
  • Ability to drive knowledge sharing and adoption of new system functionalities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lead and manage strategic projects and process enhancements.
  • Knowledge of HR processes, policies, and best practices.
  • A solid understanding of HR system operations and data security/privacy regulations.
  • Comply with all published enterprise level policies and procedures including, but not limited to, Risk Management policies.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • At least 8 years of progressively responsible work experience in HR systems, with a strong background in Workday.
  • Workday certification(s) preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading and supporting Workday system implementations and enhancements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This job requires the ability to sit for long periods of time.

  • This job requires infrequent lifting or carrying of objects up to 10 pounds.
