24437BR Security System Monitor Gatehouse Administration Center Description Monitors the fire and intrusion detection and alarm systems of all Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) facilities; coordinates communication with Fairfax County fire and police agencies and FCPS schools and offices; maintains accurate and complete logs. Qualifications Required Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate. Some experience in general office administration. Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience. Knowledge of, and/or ability to quickly learn, the operation of an electronic/audio fire and intrusion detection system. Knowledge of, and/or ability to quickly learn, the location of FCPS schools and to read and interpret building diagrams, including detector locations. Ability to operate a computer, peripheral equipment, and related software. Ability to work under pressure and handle crisis situations. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
