What You'll Do:



  • Champion Safety: Prioritize safety for yourself and others, adhering to MSHA and Vulcan standards. Promote a safe work environment and follow proper incident reporting.
  • Direct and Coordinate: Lead and coordinate production and/or maintenance employees to achieve high-quality work, efficiency, and teamwork. Ensure employees receive proper training.
  • Manage Schedules: Direct and prioritize work activities and schedules to meet sales forecasts and customer needs.
  • Ensure Efficiency: Oversee material production, ensuring timely and cost-effective operations and efficient use of resources and equipment.
  • Plant Operation: Load asphalt, manufacture products, and operate rubber plant blending equipment. Control material inventory.
  • Inspect and Maintain: Perform daily equipment inspections and document necessary repairs. Maintain and repair asphalt equipment.
  • Monitor Processes: Monitor plant systems to ensure continuous material flow and maintain product quality.
  • Document and Record: Assist with record-keeping, daily production schedules, and reports. Handle delivery tickets.
  • Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:



  • Experience: 5+ years in Rubberized Asphalt blending/ Asphalt production or a related industry, with supervisory and/or mining/construction experience preferred. On-the-job or equivalent training required.
  • Functional and Safety Knowledge: Understanding of aggregate, asphalt, cement, or ready-mix plant operations and OSHA/MSHA rules.
  • Mechanical Skills: Knowledge of industrial tools and ability to perform basic mechanical/electrical maintenance and repair.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with team members, leadership, and customers. Ability to read and interpret written orders.
  • Computer Skills: Ability to learn and use computer systems for production and reporting.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work overtime, extended hours, and in all weather conditions.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to maintain positive relationships with customers and employees.
  • Valid Driver's License and Excellent Driving Skills

Salary. The salary is prescribed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates will be placed according to union contract salary scale at $48.51 per hour.
