DoD Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled DoD Systems Engineer to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico in support of DoD space experimentation projects. The ideal candidate will be experienced in systems engineering with a strong focus on space systems. As a member of the team, you will perform critical engineering activities including requirements analysis, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), verification and validation, and supporting the development of system architectures for DoD projects. This role will require collaboration with stakeholders, managing technical interfaces, and maintaining traceability of requirements to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Requirements Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of system requirements, ensuring they align with project goals and DoD standards. Develop and maintain requirements traceability throughout the lifecycle.





  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): Develop and maintain MBSE models, using appropriate tools to define system behaviors, interfaces, and structure in alignment with DoD requirements.





  • Technical Interface Management: Manage and coordinate technical interfaces between subsystems and stakeholders, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with system requirements.





  • Verification & Validation: Develop and implement verification plans, ensuring that system requirements are validated and verified to meet project specifications. Support the execution of these plans.





  • Architecture Development Support: Assist in the development of system architectures, ensuring they meet both functional and security requirements for DoD systems.





  • Documentation: Produce and maintain technical documentation including requirements specifications, system designs, test plans, and verification reports to ensure compliance with DoD and federal regulations.





  • Stakeholder Coordination: Work with internal teams, external vendors, and DoD stakeholders to ensure alignment on technical objectives, progress, and requirements.





  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Support and collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure integrated solutions across systems and subsystems.




Required Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.





  • 4-7 years of experience in space systems engineering or related fields.





  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and techniques.





  • TS/SCI Clearance required.




Desired Qualifications:




  • Experience with requirements management and ensuring traceability throughout the systems engineering lifecycle.





  • Background in space systems development, including integration, testing, and operations.





  • Knowledge of verification and validation processes for complex systems.





  • Strong technical documentation skills with experience producing detailed reports and technical specifications.





  • Familiarity with system architecture development and trade-off analysis in systems design.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.





  • Familiarity with DoD requirements, standards, and cybersecurity protocols.





  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating documentation and interacting with diverse stakeholders.





  • High attention to detail and organization to maintain accurate and traceable system documentation.
