Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior DoD Systems Engineer to support DoD space experimentation projects. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in systems engineering and space systems development to lead and execute critical engineering activities. As a senior member of the team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to complex space system integration efforts, conduct systems analysis, and manage technical baselines, while ensuring the success of our national defense initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Requirements Analysis & Management: Conduct detailed requirements analysis for space systems, ensuring all requirements are traceable and meet DoD specifications. Develop and manage technical interfaces and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure alignment. MBSE Model Development: Develop and maintain Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) models to support space systems development. Utilize MBSE tools to create and manage digital models that accurately reflect system behaviors and interfaces. Verification & Validation: Lead the development of verification plans, ensuring that all system requirements are adequately validated and verified. Oversee the execution of these plans and conduct technical reviews to ensure compliance with specifications. Systems Integration & Architecture Development: Oversee the integration of space systems and related subsystems. Provide technical leadership in the design and development of system architectures, ensuring compatibility and compliance with DoD requirements. Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with stakeholders, including government, military, and commercial entities, to ensure technical needs are understood and properly integrated into system designs. Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical leadership to junior engineers and colleagues. Lead trade studies, identify engineering solutions, and direct the execution of systems engineering activities for complex space projects. Technical Documentation: Generate and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, system analysis reports, and verification records, ensuring that all documents comply with DoD standards and regulatory requirements. Digital Engineering & Modeling: Support the integration of digital engineering approaches into systems engineering activities, applying cutting-edge techniques to optimize space system design and performance. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in space systems engineering or related fields. Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies. TS/SCI Clearance required. Desired Qualifications: Proven experience in requirements management and technical interface management. Background in space systems development, including design, integration, and verification processes. Expertise in verification and validation processes for complex systems. Strong technical documentation skills, with experience creating clear and concise design and analysis reports. Expertise in space systems integration, ensuring all components and subsystems work cohesively. Advanced systems analysis skills and experience performing trade studies to evaluate system design options. Knowledge of digital engineering approaches and their application in space systems development. Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and mentor junior engineers.
