Description

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Laboratory Assistant II will assist with daily lab operations and animal husbandry. Primary functions are to assist with in vivo testing such as drug dosing, weighing and marking, colonies maintenance and behavioral testing in animal models of Alzheimer's diseases colonies maintenance. In addition, they will order reagents and material for laboratory experiments. They will also assist with preparation of brain tissue and other special projects and duties as assigned. Additional duties include recording, cataloging and maintaining data using appropriate software. Regular working hours will vary including weekends depending on the experiments schedule.

Salary Range: $22.02 - $25.90 Hourly

Qualifications Required:
  • Oral and written communication to provide information, instructions, training, and advice.
  • Ability to maintain clear and concise lab notes and data records
  • Ability to work according to schedule and to coordinate work with other lab members.
  • Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.

Preferred:
  • Ability to prepare buffers and other solutions using standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to complete, submit, and obtain approval for animal protocols.
  • Ability to work with animals.
  • Ability to learn laboratory techniques.
