Summary of Job:

The Senior Director, Strategic Planning oversees the annual cross-functional business planning activities and cross-function Business Development (BD) integration activities at Kyowa Kirin North America. The incumbent will partner with the brand teams and finance to support ongoing short and long-term business planning, cross-function alliance (BD) integration and go-to-market readiness for commercial launches. The incumbent supports or supports (with commercial operations, brands, finance) the Annual Business Planning Process (LRP, Brand & Financial Planning, First Look and Mid-Range Plan as well as BD (alliance) integration activities for the U.S.

Essential Functions:



  • Develop and implement the business planning strategy, building the role as a strategic partner to the NA organization to support the achievement of business objectives.
  • Working with brand teams to support launch readiness.
  • Work with the marketing team on coordinating the brand planning process. Facilitate reviews with leadership, highlight areas of concern/opportunity, and develop action plans accordingly.
  • Continual monitoring of resource allocation across teams relative to BD activity and evolution of the North America Healthcare landscape
  • Proactively create/change processes, structure, programs, and planning systems to ensure NA region success and fiscal accountability across all functions and activities.
  • Work with cross-functional partners (regulatory, legal, finance, compliance, and HR) to update policies governing KKNA alliance integration, as required. Lead the implementation of any new processes or documentation associated with updates.
  • Build strong partnerships and drive role clarity with other stakeholders across KKNA functions


Job Requirements:

Education

Bachelor's Degree required. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

Experience

At least 10 years' experience leading cross-function teams with diverse experience, marketing leadership, sales leadership or operations leadership roles within the pharma/biotech market. Rare Disease and Oncology experience preferred but not required. Knowledge of best practices, business processes, and commercial systems across the pharmaceutical industry. Insightful understanding of regulatory, legal, and requirements for pharmaceutical marketing. Proven track record of building, leading, and driving business process transformation in marketing operations or commercial operations. Demonstrated ability to seek diverse input from multiple stakeholders to make highly complex decisions and drive innovative solutions.

Technical Skills

Proficient in MS Office Suite, and Veeva/Salesforce CRM Systems.

Non-Technical Skills

Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, make decisions, and change course of action quickly. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong work ethic is required. Detail oriented and excellent follow through. Has the ability to flex and deal with ambiguity in a dynamic, fast-paced, high growth environment. Has a passion for personal learning and development to be able to grow with the company. Cultural sensitivity and ability to develop consensus within a multinational organization
