Director of B to B and New Business Development Status: Exempt Job Category: Regular Full-Time Date Reviewed: February 2025 Department: Sales Location: Louisville, KY Basic Functions

The Director is responsible for the B to B customers and development of new targets. The main responsibilities are to develop sales strategies, establish growth plans and implement measures to reach the annual sales targets. This leader will develop and build relationships with new and existing clients. Organizational Relationships Reports to: Vice President, Sales Supervises: No Direct Reports
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Accountable for sales activities reporting including sales forecast per sales period based on customer input (this could include client visits, trade shows, business lunches, etc.).
- Evaluate the strategic position of the industrial portfolios and develop a competitive sales strategy.
- Maintain positive relationships with existing key accounts and grow current business opportunities.
- Develop and follow up on leads through business development procedures.
- Collaborate internally with all departments to propose suggested specification changes to potential or existing customers that would better suit current capabilities.
- Analyze and execute annual, quarterly, and exception price review, increases and decreases.
- Work with Management to roll out new sales initiatives in promoting further industrial manufacturing sales.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional organizations, as applicable.
- Review Broker Claims monthly internally.
- Oversee tracking and resolution of overall Consumer Inquiries/Complaints.
- Review and approve/deny customer deductions given backup received and filed.
- Assist customers with new equipment decisions, packaging/ingredient component changes and/or development by streamlining communication with internal and external resources.
- Evaluate and implement process resolutions when departmental or organizational concern/opportunity arises that requires a change to an established or new protocol to further continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Mental and Physical Requirements
- Ability to maintain considerable concentration with frequent time pressures and interruptions.

Working Environment and Conditions This position requires working in an indoor, climate-controlled, low noise area and an external non-controlled environment.
Travel This position requires up to 40% travel. Travel is outside the local area and, at times, could be on short notice.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Training
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Marketing.
- At least three years' experience within the food and beverage market preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior attendance at formal sales training courses a plus, demonstrated record of achievement in prior sales position.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and an understanding of other software and web-based applications and Internet search functions.
