The Sales Director is responsible for overseeing and guiding a team of Account Managers to ensure the achievement of sales and profitability goals across customer accounts. The ideal candidate will have a background in flexible packaging, technical expertise, and experience in operations or engineering. This leader should be pragmatic, data-driven, and a strong collaborator, with experience managing large companies and budgets. This role focuses on fostering a high-performance team, driving strategic customer engagement, and ensuring seamless operations. Essential qualities include proven leadership, the ability to handle high-stress situations, and experience with Salesforce and customer inventory management. The candidate will also be responsible for customer visits and annual reviews, supporting business growth and enhancing client satisfaction. Team Leadership


  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Account Managers, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
  • Set clear expectations, goals, and performance metrics for the team, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment that encourages knowledge sharing, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Strategic Account Oversight


  • Oversee the management of key customer accounts, ensuring strategic alignment and consistent execution of deliverables.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex client issues, providing resolution and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to identify and pursue growth opportunities within existing accounts.

Operational Excellence


  • Ensure all customer programs, including Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and Supplier Owned Inventory (SOI), are executed efficiently and in compliance with customer requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze team performance metrics, identifying trends and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including operational leaders and customer service teams, to align resources and capabilities with customer needs.

Strategic Leadership


  • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth and profitability for the team's portfolio of accounts.
  • Act as a liaison between senior management and the Account Manager team, communicating business priorities and updates effectively.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive intelligence, and market opportunities, sharing insights with the team and leadership.

Customer Relationship Management


  • Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders within key accounts to reinforce trust and long-term partnerships.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality service and adherence to client business objectives, positioning the team as a trusted partner.


When your expertise drives us.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, packaging, chemistry, engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of successful sales or account management experience, including managing relationships with large, multinational customers.

  • Proven experience leading and managing a team, with a track record of achieving or exceeding team goals.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and develop actionable plans.

  • Expertise in the flexible packaging industry is highly preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.

  • Experience with strategic selling and familiarity with customer inventory management programs such as VMI and SOI.
