DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be supervising caseworkers that are engaged in the provision of a variety of services. Your duties include training new staff, overseeing caseworker's assigned cases, and reviewing records to determine the quality of services rendered. You will plan and conduct ongoing training activities for staff members, evaluate staff performance, and make recommendations regarding personnel actions. Other duties to include but not limited to:
- Planning and supervising the administrative aspects of the work such as, assigning cases, districting, and flow of work
- Contacting other agencies and interpreting the program to the community
- Offering presentations in the community which explain and advance the agency's child protection mission
- Evaluating the effectiveness of agency services and contracted service providers
- Participating in management team meetings, fostering an atmosphere of mutual trust, respect, and dedication to the mission of the agency
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
- Flexibility in work schedule is often required since appointments may be outside of the standard Monday through Friday workday that can include weekends.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Indiana, Jefferson, or Westmoreland counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
