JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Director of Admission Operations audits admission data processes for quality assurance and efficiency. This position serves as the primary analytical contact for undergraduate admission, and is responsible for researching, implementing, and maintaining admission systems. This position also collaborates with other units to facilitate recruitment and retention initiatives.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises staff members who are responsible for inputting admission applications and supporting document materials into the student information system; articulates transfer course work from newly admitted transfer students' transcripts

  • Builds and maintains data integration between external application sources (i.e. Common Application, customer relationship management (CRM) systems) with University admission and student information systems; audits all data in the admission process; examines for data integrity, electronic application for admission and test score pushes; documents imaging quality check, and processing errors

  • Develops methods to repurpose and utilize freshman non-matriculant data from the National Clearinghouse to create an inquiry pool for non-traditional populations such as transfer, summer studies, and graduate

  • Collaborates with Enrollment and Retention Management units on the expansion of current projects, as well as the creation of new admission and retention-related initiatives

  • Facilitates and troubleshoots the integration of data and documents from other systems into CRM for processing student applications

  • Represents the Office of Admission on committees in relation to Banner and various forms of recruitment software; coordinates withITSinregard to University-wide reporting tools and student systems

  • Provides support and consultation for other offices using admission systems; provides for graduate systems integration and maintenance

  • Reviews existing and potential external partnerships to determine return on investment of implementing new tools with existing

  • Serves as the administrator for the system used to document processes; maintains repository for all documentation

  • Serves as a Liaison to Global Team for troubleshooting and guidance of processing documents for international students

  • Performs other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong working knowledge of student information systems such asSLATE, Banner, AppXtender

  • Working competency inSQL,SOQL,JAVA,orother programming languages with the ability to query, extract, load, and update data to multiple sources

  • Knowledge using data warehouse,Tableau,Alteryxor other enterprise reporting data systems.

  • Competency in the use of query tools and/or software utilized to collect and process applicant data

  • Thorough knowledge of admission policies, procedures, and terminology

  • Written and verbal communication skills, including presentations and group facilitation of data and report findings

  • Interpersonal/human relations skills

  • Strong time management skills, combined with the ability to shift work focus and assist in achieving priorities

  • Administrator-level ability with innovative technology systems such asSLATE

  • Ability to effectively use business intelligence tools

  • Ability to translate data and business process needs between end users and administrators.

  • Ability to rapidly and thoroughly evaluate procedures and new technology, and then refine, develop or recommend new procedures

  • Ability to train staff and provide ongoing support in a team environment

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with student data

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Five years of related work experience

  • Experience with integrated student information systems and the utilization of data for analysis and assessment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • SLATE experience

  • Working competency inSQL,SOQL,JAVA,orother programming languages with the ability to query, extract, load, and update data to multiple sources
