Summary

The MIL Corporation is seeking an Information Security Analyst, Advanced (Cyber Security, Associate) to serve as a functional expert in planning, implementing, upgrading, and monitoring security measures for the protection of complex communication systems and networks. This role will provide advanced knowledge of cybersecurity policies and technical solutions to assess system vulnerabilities, propose and implement risk mitigation strategies, and ensure the safe operation of critical communication systems.

This position is located in Lexington Park, MD and currently requires a hybrid schedule. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

Please note: This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, upgrade, and monitor security measures to safeguard complex communication systems and networks.

  • Provide advanced expertise in Information Assurance (IA) policy and technical cybersecurity solutions to identify vulnerabilities, assess security risks, and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Oversee the development of system IA documentation to support certification of compliance with standards such as DoDI 8510.01 (Risk Management Framework for DoD IT), Intelligence Community Directive 705, and Intelligence Community Directive 503.

  • Evaluate emerging cybersecurity technologies for potential integration into multiple enterprise communication systems.

  • Perform penetration testing, cyber forensics, and system security engineering to reduce risks for communication systems and networks with high cyber-attack potential.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, network engineers, security teams, and program managers, to ensure robust cybersecurity measures.

  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal, DoD, and intelligence community cybersecurity standards and frameworks.

  • Support risk assessment processes and continuous monitoring to ensure system integrity and security.

Travel

Up to 10% yearly, as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years specifically focused on performing the above responsibilities on communication systems or networks. Additionally, at least 3 years of experience must demonstrate either:

    • A broad background in multiple cybersecurity technologies or policy organizations, OR
    • Deep expertise in a specific cybersecurity technology such as Cross Domain Solutions, Multi-Level Security (MLS), Host Based Security Systems, Identity Management Solutions, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems, Computer Hacking Forensics, PKI, Mobile Device Management, Wireless Security Solutions, COMSEC, Cryptography, or other emerging cybersecurity solutions
  • Certification (one of the following required):

    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional - Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (CISSP - ISSEP)
    • CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+), or PenTest+
    • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
    • ISACA Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity compliance frameworks and standards (e.g., DoDI 8510.01, RMF, ICD 705, ICD 503)

  • Experience with penetration testing tools and methodologies

  • Background in cyber forensics or system security engineering

  • MS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited or CAE-designated institution is desired

Clearance

All applicants for this position must possess a current Secret clearance or higher; please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background aspects.

Salary at MIL is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is $132,000 - $165,00per year.
