Job Summary:

The Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CCTSI) is a clinical research institute located on the Anschutz Medical Campus. CCTSI provides infrastructure and core technology resources designed to enhance clinical and basic sciences, promote research excellence, and train the next generation of clinical/translational scientists. The CCTSI has an opening for a full-time Junior REDCap Administrator. This position will be academically housed in the Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute. REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a web-based HIPAA-compliant data collection software used by campus investigators when collecting research data that includes protected health information (PHI). This full-time, University Staff (unclassified) Junior REDCap Administrator will handle administrative tasks related to REDCap use (e.g., managing user accounts, testing upgrades) and collaborate with users to develop high-quality data collection tools that follow best practices. The Junior REDCap Administrator will work directly with IT specialists, biostatisticians, project coordinators, and other REDCap users. We are looking for a team player with strong enterprise software skills and an interest in contributing to human health in an academic environment. Must have excellent communications skills, be willing to understand CCTSI processes, and contribute ideas and solutions to a high-performing, motivated informatics team. Examples of Work Performed: This position requires independent action, and the use of discretion and creativity within the limits of institutional, state, and federal regulations to facilitate the research mission of the University of Colorado. REDCap Administration: 50%
- Assist with testing monthly and ad-hoc REDCap upgrades
- Serve as a liaison between technical staff (Database Administrators, software developers, system administrators, etc.) and end users when necessary.
- Assist senior REDCap Administrators with the development and review of policy, procedure, and security documents
- Support senior REDCap Administrators with integrating the REDCap API and other software solutions
- Test functionality of REDCap external modules
End User support: 30%
- Provide end user support of REDCap, including creation and management of user accounts, approving user requests for database changes, responding to user questions, and communicating best practices
- Provide end user training for use of the application and develop training materials
- Triage, escalate, and summarize end-user requests to senior REDCap Administrators when necessary
External: 20%
- Participate and represent the University of Colorado in the REDCap Consortium
Provide beginner level support to Informatics Core, Perform additional job-related duties as required

Qualifications:
|
- Formal classroom training in database creation and management OR research methods and statistics
- Familiarity with Entity-Attribute-Value (EAV) database model
- Familiarity with health care research, HIPAA, and other health data regulations
- Familiarity with data security best practices
- Diplomatic disposition and customer service orientation with excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language
- Detail-oriented self-starter with outstanding interpersonal skills, and ability to establish and maintain good customer and end-user relations
- Ability to understand study design requirements in order to facilitate database configuration
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, yet ask questions when necessary
- Ability to collaborate with coworkers in a team environment on complex projects, team player attitude
- Ability to learn quickly, ability to adapt to changes in technology and its intended use
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize several simultaneous tasks with potentially conflicting priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $57,679- $67,485 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
