We're on the hunt for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Algona, WA who's ready to roll up their sleeves and help us create an inspiring and supportive workplace where our associates thrive. Responsibilities:

As our HR Generalist, you'll be at the heart of our team, partnering with leadership to drive key HR initiatives that support our associates and our mission. Whether you're supporting training programs, engaging with associates, or ensuring compliance with policies, you'll make a difference every day.



  • Assist in human resource initiatives that are aligned with the strategic vision in partnership with HR team colleagues and business leaders.

    • Maintain visibility and act as an ambassador to all associates through frequent visits to production and/or warehouse areas.
    • Accessible to all associates for HR related inquiries or clarification of policies.
    • Understand the function of each position in the plant and/or warehouse and help support the strategic initiatives of the business.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
    • Demonstrate a high level of integrity by careful management of confidential and sensitive information, sharing information on an "as needed" basis only.


  • Assist with supporting the management team to ensure consistent and fair administration of Company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with supporting the management team to ensure proper discipline is issued as outlined in the Discipline Policy and Attendance Policy.
  • Assist with the processing of all unemployment claims.
  • Ensure associate personnel records are maintained and up to date.
  • Assist with associate relations and conducts investigations when needed.
  • Process terminations and conduct exit interviews.
  • Ensure all related company communications (e.g. initiatives, milestones, policy changes) are distributed plant and/or warehouse wide.
  • Plan associate events to bolster morale and create associate engagement.
  • Assists in other HR employment activities as assigned.
  • Adhere to all policies, guidelines, and procedures, such as GMP, HACCP, and work and safety rules.


Requirements:



  • Experience: You bring 1-5 years of hands-on HR experience (bonus points if you've worked in a manufacturing or warehouse setting).
  • Skills: Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) plus proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems.
  • Collaborative Spirit: A team player who knows how to build trust, influence others, and bring people together for a common goal.
  • Drive for Excellence: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, anticipate challenges, and stay positive, no matter what!
  • A Passion for People: You thrive when you're helping others succeed, whether that's providing HR support or helping associates with their career growth.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English highly preferred.

Salary Starting $65k-$80k

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field, and/or equivalent experience required.
  • 2-3 years' experience in Talent Acquisition and HR administration, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Effective interpersonal and strong communication skills: verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Depending on the region, may be required to be bilingual (English and Spanish).
  • A collaborative work style and the ability to build trust and influence at varying levels in the organization.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and HRIS systems.
  • Proven organizational skills.
  • Ability to anticipate issues and influence others.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude that is reflective of the Utz Culture.
