Space Shadematcher

Job Summary:

The Space Shadematcher is responsible for operating the Belmont & print machine.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate Long Space Dye Line.
• Responsible for matching all production shades for the Belmont.
• Responsible for operating the print machine, which includes selecting the appropriate dye pattern from the Supervisor's office and ensuring the correct color is in the correct tank and is set on the correct dye pan position.
• Check yarn lot number, merge number, and denier to ensure they correspond with shop order when staging for production.
• Check winder tension according to the set-up sheet throughout the shift.
• At the end of each doff, make a sock and winding card from a cone. Take to inspection table and compare to previous doff of the same lot to ensure one dye lot. Label cone with doff number and time. If shade changes, stop dye line and adjust.
• During each shift, keep finish tank filled using 45 grams per liter of finish and fill up with water.
• Responsible for cleaning the print machine between print runs and check the print roller to be sure they are in good condition after washing up from previous time.

Performance Expectations (if applicable):

• Standing is required approximately 8 hours per shift.
• Reaching and stooping is required several times during the shift.
• Must be able to use scissors 20 to 30 times per shift.
• Must be able to distinguish colors and shade differences.

Experience/Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or relevant experience preferred
• Must be able to communicate in English
• Must be able to do basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Computer knowledge or data entry skills are a necessary part of the job
• Lift truck certification preferred

Other Requirements:

• Safety equipment must be worn as required.
• Overtime is required on occasion.
• Must be able to use hand trucks.
• All accidents must be reported immediately.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
