    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Education. Valid MN Teaching License, Adult Basic Education licensure preferred. Knowledge of Adult Basic Education content standards. Knowledge of adult learning and unique needs of adult learners, especially English language learners. Previous experience teaching Adult Basic Education.

    Pay Rate/Range: NEA Agreement BA1 -$55,441 - MA40-$91,619. Base pay DOQ - Subject to change upon the settlement of the 25-27 Master Agreement.

    Compensation/Benefits/Perks: Position does not eligible for benefits

    Job Summary:
    An Adult Basic Education (ABE) Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering individualized instruction in basic academic skills like reading, writing, math, and sometimes English as a Second Language (ESL) to adult learners, often with diverse backgrounds and learning levels, aiming to improve their literacy and functional skills for daily life and potential employment opportunities; duties include assessing student needs, creating personalized learning plans, utilizing various teaching methods, and monitoring progress to ensure successful achievement of educational goals.

    Responsibilities:
    • Teach Adult Basic Education classes on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings at the Northfield Community Education Center.
    • Daily planning and developing lesson plans for students and volunteers who assist the class.
    • Assess, evaluate and respond to student performance and needs.
    • Participate in professional development and staff meetings, as required.
