Engineering Technician I
Pay Rate is 21.00-25.00 hourly
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has a contingent position for an Engineering Technician l who will be a key support to assembling, installing equipment or parts requiring basic mechanical, electrical, wiring, soldering, or connecting skills.
- This position is located in the Camarillo, CA.
Job Description:
- Builds switches for various switchboards for DDG, CG, CVN and L Class ships following detailed drawings, technical manuals and schematics.
- Assembles switch kits, wire harnesses and switchboard components from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams or schematics for Command and Control/Interior Communications Systems which includes engraving faceplates and description plates, printing wire markers and embossing cable tags.
- Serves as a member of a team supporting Interior Communications / Standard Module (IC/SM) and switchboard projects.
Job Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must have some knowledge of electronics/electrical applications.
- Must be a team player but also be able to work independently.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience reading and applying drawing technical requirements.
Security Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
- Must be able to obtain a CAC card and maintain a CAC card, or have one prior to starting the role.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel- up to 50% including international travel.
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. - Subject to outside environmental conditions (extreme cold/heat), subject to noise, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions (affect the respiratory system), frequently work in close quarters and/or function in narrow aisles or passageways (areas that could cause claustrophobia).
- Protective clothing or equipment and face shields or goggles shall be worn when welding, cutting, or working with molten metal.
