Position Overview:

The Product Repair Specialist is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and calibrating medical devices and training equipment to maintain peak performance. This role involves using technical expertise, troubleshooting skills, and precision tools to ensure equipment functions accurately and reliably. Additional responsibilities may include conducting product repair training and demonstrating repair procedures. By maintaining high-quality standards, this position plays a key role in supporting healthcare professionals with the tools they need for effective training and patient care.

Responsibilities:

Repair, Maintenance & Quality Assurance:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hardware and software for medical simulation equipment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with performance standards.
  • Test, modify, and refurbish equipment while identifying and reporting recurring product issues for manufacturing review.

Customer Support & Service

  • Provide technical expertise and support to internal and external customers.
  • Communicate repair status, diagnoses, and shipping details, while managing quotes and follow-ups for out-of-warranty repairs.
  • Conduct both warranty and non-warranty service calls to ensure customer satisfaction.

Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Track and analyze repair trends, developing documentation and recommendations for product and procedural
  • enhancements.
  • Maintain detailed logs in the ERP system, prioritizing and escalating cases as needed.

Technical Support & Inventory Management

  • Troubleshoot and resolve software, networking, and hardware issues.
  • Assist in product development testing and maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts.
  • Ensure all service activities align with company values and quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in technology or a related field, with technical support experience preferred.
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft platforms and software installations.
  • Ability to diagnose issues, implement solutions, and apply problem-solving techniques like root-cause analysis.
  • Strong customer service skills with excellent verbal and written communication, including a professional telephone presence.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and proactively tackle tasks.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and maintain a sense of urgency while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Must be able to lift and transport equipment as needed and perform hands-on technical work, including troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and work in various physical positions for extended periods.

Salary Range: $47,000 - $49,000, eligible for 7% annual bonus

The salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, but not limited to; the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, location, level of education attained, and/or professional certifications, years of relevant experience, special skills, etc.
