Maintenance Repairman 2 - Clarks Summit State Hospital

As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will have a range of responsibilities including maintaining facility locks, door mechanisms, and door frames as a locksmith. Additionally, you will perform tasks and repairs related to various building maintenance trades such as carpentry, painting, electrical work, plumbing, and masonry work. Your role is crucial in ensuring the proper functioning and safety of the facility. In this position, you will work under the direct supervision of the Facility Operations Supervisor in the Maintenance Trades Section of the Facility Services Department.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • You will be required to work every 12th weekend, with on-call holidays as assigned. There is a 12-person weekend work rotation.
• Overtime and travel as operationally necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
