THE POSITION

The role of a Driver License Examiner Assistant is situated within a Driver License Center, where you deliver essential driver licensing services to the community. This positionplays a significant role in promoting highway safety by assisting with the processing of counter customers at the Driver License Center, with a critical component being the examination of identity documents to combat identity theft and fraud. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be employed at a Driver License Center, delivering driver licensing services to the community. Your responsibilities will encompass welcoming customers, confirming their identification, assisting them in completing application forms, and inputting data into digital systems. Furthermore, you will supply essential forms and brochures tailored to customer requirements and administer knowledge assessments to evaluate applicants' comprehension of driving laws and regulations. A vision screening will be performed for all applicants using specialized equipment. The assistant will also record test outcomes and applications in online systems while independently addressing public inquiries. It is essential to possess comprehensive knowledge about the services provided, including the criteria for obtaining REAL ID and non-REAL ID products, as well as details regarding license renewals, duplicates, out-of-state transfers, motorcycle licenses, and commercial driving licenses.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 80 hours bi-weekly
  • Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position may require overtime and travel.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • This position requires the selected candidate to undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment.
