Cybersecurity Staff Attorney

Location: Washington, DC or New York City

About the Role:

Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking a dedicated Staff Attorney to join our Technology, Communications, Privacy & Security (TCPS) group. This role is focused on supporting our cybersecurity incident response work, including for a global technology provider. The successful candidate will work closely with our team and our clients to manage ongoing client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle routine incident response work.
  • Assist in managing cybersecurity incident matters, ensuring timely and effective responses to incidents.
  • Work directly with clients, including both legal and technical personnel, to address their cybersecurity concerns, providing clear and concise legal guidance.
  • Collaborate with associates and partners to ensure seamless service delivery while allowing associates to develop in other areas.
  • Participate in training to develop expertise in privacy and cybersecurity, ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred candidates will have experience in cybersecurity law.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work proactively and independently, including the ability to identify and prioritize the most pressing issues and tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to clients.
  • A commitment to providing consistent and stable support to our clients, with a focus on long-term engagement.

The annualized salary range for this position in Washington, D.C.is $147,000 to $166,000 and in New York City is $168,000 to $194,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate's education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus and health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401(k), vacation, sick time, 10 paid holidays each year and an employee assistance program. For full-time employees, the initial sick leave benefit is80 hours of sick leave per year. Attorneys generally take approximately three weeks of vacation from work each year, and it may vary depending on the needs of the clients and the firm. Additional voluntary benefits programs include: voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long-term care, and pet insurance. Commuter and Transit programs are also available.
