DWTSurge Contract Real Property Attorney (Remote)
Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking an experienced mid-level real estate attorney for engagement through the firm's alternative-track contract attorney and staffing program, DWTSurge. The selected contract attorney will work with the Real Property practice group handling loan transactions and financing matters.

Attorneys who are seeking more flexibility and a part-time schedule, are encouraged to apply.

This contract position will be remote, part-time, and will be for an initial 6 month term. For successful candidates, the contract position may be renewed for additional terms and the opportunity could be significantly longer. We are looking for attorneys interested in establishing a flexible working relationship with the firm on an exclusive basis.

The chosen resource will assist the firm's Real Property practice group with a large number of affordable housing construction loan transactions for clients, including drafting loan-related and other documents, handling title and survey reviews, and reviewing and summarizing subordinate financing sources and restrictive covenants documents.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • 3+ years of real estate experience in a mid-larger law firm or in-house setting.
  • Residency in one of the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CT, FL, GA, IL, MD, MN, MT, NJ, NM, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, TN, TX, VA, WA, and WDC.
  • Attorneys must have active bar admission in their state of residence and a state in which DWT maintains an office.
  • Strong drafting skills and experience managing loan transactions, including financing and deal closings.
  • Availability to work part-time hours, 20 hours per week.
  • Flexibility for anticipated hours to fluctuate as needed.
  • Ability to work remotely and quickly handle high volume programmatic legal matters.
  • Excellent writing skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to produce high quality work product with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Excellent proactive communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain effective working relationships and communicate verbally and in writing, with clients, firm members, and other business contacts.

Please note that this is an alternative track, contract-based position managed by DWT's flexible contract staffing program, DWTSurge. We are interested in candidates who are seeking growth opportunities in the legal industry and are interested in providing continuous, high-value client service to the Firm's attorneys and to our clients. Compensation will be paid on an hourly basis, commensurate with experience and skill level (see below). This role is ineligible for some benefits. Salary Range
The hourly range for this position in CA, IL, MD, MN, NY, OR, WA, and WDC is $80 to $120 per hour. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
