Description

Plans and executes activities pertaining to the evaluation and disposition of products received from component suppliers and/or is engaged in the qualification and approval of suppliers of purchased components or other provider services. Supports Supplier Quality activity for V2X Quality, operations and supply chain functions.

Job Duties



  • Quality Point of Contact for Suppliers
  • Conducts contract and purchase order review for Quality Requirements
  • Develops/maintains Quality metrics for assigned program(s)
  • Assists/conducts Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions (RCCA)
  • Facilitates audits
  • Reads and interprets specifications, customer requirements, and standards
  • Helps define supplier quality requirements in purchase orders for supplier flow-down and in inspection requirements in Receiving Inspection Instructions
  • Communicates with suppliers regarding quality requirements
  • Drives supplier quality improvement
  • Presents qualification data/samples to customers, as required
  • Resolves supplier quality product issues
  • Issues and tracks Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR)
  • Approves RCCA responses to supplier quality issues and verifies the effectiveness of supplier actions on subsequent product receipts.
  • Assists in setting supplier metrics goals to ensure suppliers meet and maintain expected quality levels
  • Support troubleshooting activities with suppliers
  • Qualification and approval of suppliers:
  • Conducts supplier surveys, audits, and conformance reviews for the purpose of approving suppliers. Establishes and defines audit criteria.
  • Maintains records of internal audits including audit reports, findings, corrective actions, and follow up. Coordinates with Material Master when sourcing components to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Interfaces with customers and regulatory agencies with regard to supplier quality assurance and requirements imposed.



Skills Required



  • Excellent organization and communication skills, written and verbal, with an ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Advanced computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Understanding of the operation and application of SPC, Variation Management and other Continuous Improvement disciplines desired
  • Resolve internal/external Quality issues and apply a structured problem-solving approach
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Team oriented with strong problem solving skills
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and understand the application of GD&T a plus
  • Working knowledge of and auditing experience to either AS9100, AS9110, and/or AS9120 quality system standards
  • Candidate must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment



Education and Experience:

Minimum of 5 years in Quality (Quality Assurance, Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor) plus bachelor's degree in science, mathematics, logistics, supply chain management or equivalent, or equivalent work experience. Must have a strong quality technical background and must be familiar with Quality Management Systems AS9100, AS9110, AS9120 and/or ATF 16949:2016, as well as inspection and manufacturing processes and procedures. Experience in aerospace a plus.

Working Conditions:



  • Remote work location negotiable.
  • Travel: Must be able to travel to monitor supplier/subcontractor activities and able to handle moderate-to-high levels of stress.
  • Predominantly an office environment. However, the nature of position may require exposure to work areas that have high noise levels. Oil, grease, grime, and dust may be present. Production facilities may not be environmentally controlled; temperature of working area may reflect the outside weather conditions.
  • Personal Protective Equipment Requirements: Must use safety glasses, safety shoes, and ear plugs within the immediate production areas where required.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Working Hours/Overtime requirements: Normal 40-hour work week. Overtime and weekends as required to perform job duties.
