Overview

AmTrust is searching for an experienced and knowledgeable Underwriting Manager to lead the underwriting team aligned with 6 states including LA, AR, OK, NM, CO, & WY. This position will be responsible for all new business underwriting activity and middle market renewals within the assigned territory.



Responsibilities

    Manage and monitor all aspects of the team including new business production, renewal retention, service standards, and profitability targets.
  • Guide team on risk acceptability via referrals and coaching in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
  • Partner with geographically aligned sales managers and agency distribution to achieve goals.
  • Monitor underwriting decisions through regular audits and referrals and address issues as appropriate, both individually and through group training.
  • Participate in leadership meetings and special projects to contribute on strategic initiatives and company processes.


Qualifications

  • 8+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience with a track record of success and increased responsibility. Leadership experience highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of WC, Property, GL, BOP, Commercial Auto, Inland Marine, & Umbrella lines of business.
  • Working knowledge of ISO rules and classifications.
  • Industry designations preferred.
