Job Summary:

IPG interns will hit the ground running in a fast-paced, collaborative environment tackling real time manufacturing challenges. You will work in concert with experienced engineers on a process improvement or development project, the results of which will be presented to your team at the end of the summer. At the conclusion of your time with IPG, you will have gained unique knowledge and lifelong connections.

Job Functions:

• Experience semiconductor laser packaging and testing equipment
• Support engineers in the areas of improving and upgrading automated manufacturing stations, laser test procedures and equipment
• Analyze performance statistics and provide feedback for manufacturing step optimization
• Support production engineers in troubleshooting hardware/software issues
• Qualify manufacturing processes through yield, performance, repeatability studies

Education:

Must be enrolled in 3rd year of a relevant engineering degree program with a College or University, preferred disciplines:

• Electrical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Material Science/ Engineering
• Computer Engineering
• Mechatronics Engineering
• Manufacturing Engineering

Experience:

• Familiarity with Solidworks, Comsol, draftsight, and Origin for mechanical and manufacturing engineering applicants
• Basic knowledge of engineering principles
• MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio)
• Familiarity with QC tools, engineering data and statistics analysis applications is a plus
• Familiarity with C# language, Visual Studio IDE, remote control of scientific instruments is also a plus

Required:

• Must be able to work from the IPG facility located in Oxford MA
• Must have reliable transportation to arrive to work on time
