About the Position

The Assistant Treasurer & Director, Corporate Finance & Banking is responsible for managing, executing, and/or assisting the Treasurer in executing various treasury management duties. Specifically, the responsibilities of this position will include the following key activities:

This is a hybrid role located at our corporate headquarters in downtown St. Louis, MO.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating/managing Ameren Corporation and utility subsidiary short-term and long-term financing activities: Public bond and equity issuances, Credit facility arrangements, Commercial paper programs, Liability management exercises

  • Monitoring and managing the company's long-term debt and liquidity profile and key credit metrics

  • Monitoring compliance with debt agreements

  • Overseeing the daily banking activities such as providing adequate liquidity, determining daily cash position, and reviewing the short-term cash flow forecasts for Ameren Corporation and key operating subsidiaries.

  • Assisting the Treasurer in managing company's relationships with banks, credit rating agencies, regulators, and external counsel

  • Assisting with the preparation of expert finance witness testimony, data request responses, and related analysis in state and federal regulatory proceedings.

  • Preparing materials/presentations for meetings of the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.

  • Managing the financial evaluation of proposed capital investments, including design and execution of related process and controls.

  • Leading the Treasury capital planning process and providing modeling group with finance-related assumptions for the company's five year forecast, including those associated with capital structure, dividends, and capital market activity.

  • Assisting the Treasurer in the development, maintenance and communication of Treasury policies and procedures and providing thought leadership around financing strategy, dividend policy, and other finance matters.

  • Providing any necessary finance/treasury-related support or training to Ameren's operating segments.

  • Overseeing the credit risk management function

  • Performing various signatory and approver duties as Assistant Treasurer for all Ameren companies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or related discipline from an accredited university is required.

  • Masters of Business Administration is preferred.

  • Ten or more years of progressive accounting or finance experience is required.

  • Experience working with bankers, credit rating agencies, regulators, and attorneys is preferred.

  • Five or more years of experience in supervisory or project leadership is required.

  • Experience working in a corporate treasury function and leading capital market transactions is preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A solid understanding of business concepts and strategic alignment;

  • A pragmatic approach to achieving results;

  • Strong communication and presentation skills;

  • The ability to effectively multi-task and work independently;

  • The ability to see the big picture while managing details

  • The ability to build relationships and work effectively with senior leadership and external contacts.

Compensation Range:

$161,100.00 - $249,700.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance. Director and above positions also include a Long-Term Incentive Plan and the option to enroll in a Deferred Compensation Plan.
