Quality Improvement and Health Equity Supervisor

Location: Mariposa County, California; Merced County, California; Monterey County, California; San Benito County, California; Santa Cruz County, California

We have an opportunity to join the Alliance as a Quality Improvement and Health Equity Supervisor in the Quality Improvement and Population Health Department.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

This position sits within the Quality and Population Health team at the Alliance. The position will supervise the Quality Improvement Program Advisors supporting the Alliance's pay-for-performance Care-Based Incentive (CBI) Program for primary care providers. This position will support regulatory requirements and oversight of QI and health equity-related projects.



WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Reporting to the Quality and Population Health Manager, this position:



  • Supervises a team within the Quality Improvement (QI) and Population Health Department, acts as a subject matter expert, and provides guidance on Quality Improvement and Health Equity programs
  • Oversees and acts as a resource to staff responsible for providing proactive solutions related to QI projects and program evaluation
  • Supervises, mentors, and trains assigned staff



THE IDEAL CANDIDATE



  • Thorough knowledge of NCQA HEDIS measures and data analysis
  • Experience with provider incentives
  • Experience working in Medi-Cal Managed Care
  • Experience working with providers and clinic staff on quality performance measurement and improvement
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize the work of others, delegate effectively, coordinate activities and projects, follow up on work assignments, and adhere to timelines
  • Has a passion for supervising, mentoring, and training staff to enhance performance and achieve team goals while encouraging a positive and supportive work environment

  • Knowledge of:


    • the principles and practices of supervision and training
    • a variety of quality initiative techniques applicable to HEDIS, CBI and QI projects
    • the HEDIS tool or similar auditing processes
    • the principles and practices of project management
    • the healthcare industry and delivery system operations, healthcare informatics, and healthcare benefits and terminology


  • Ability to:

    • train, mentor, supervise, and evaluate the work of staff, promote an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation, and motivate staff to achieve goals and objectives
    • act as a technical resource and explain regulations, processes, and programs related to area of assignment
    • develop work plans and workflows and organize and prioritize Quality Improvement and Health Equity activities
    • assist with the development and supervise the implementation of multiple projects, systems, programs, policies and procedures to achieve goals and timelines
    • foster collaborative working relationships and build consensus with individuals at all levels of the organization and with community partners, providers and other external stakeholders


  • Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care, Data Science, Public Health, or a related field
    • A minimum of four years of experience performing Quality Improvement activities in a healthcare environment, which includes a minimum of one year of experience performing data science-related tasks, and one year of lead or supervisory experience (a Master's degree may substitute for two years of the required experience); or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying

  • We are in a hybrid work environment and we anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely via Microsoft Teams.
  • While some staff may work full telecommuting schedules, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.
  • In-office or in-community presence may be required for some positions and is dependent on business need. Details about this can be reviewed during the interview process.



The full compensation range for this position is listed by location below.

The actual compensation for this role will be determined by our compensation philosophy, analysis of the selected candidate's qualifications (direct or transferrable experience related to the position, education or training), as well as other factors (internal equity, market factors, and geographic location).

Zone 1 (Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz)
$109,101 - $174,574 USD
Zone 2 (Mariposa and Merced)
$99,283 - $158,870 USD
OUR BENEFITS

Available for all regular Alliance employees working more than 30 hours per week. Some benefits are available on a pro-rated basis for part-time employees. These benefits are unavailable to temporary employees while on an assignment with the Alliance.
