The Opportunity: The purpose of this role is to oversee the processing, analysis, and reporting of financial transactions, budgeting processes, financial planning, analysis, and management accounting activities relating to complex insurance and reinsurance transactions, including regulatory and statutory reporting. This includes providing leadership, direction, and coordination of operational activities, ensuring accuracy and consistency of accounting and reporting activities, and supporting compliance with IFRS and other regulatory standards. Additionally, the role involves managing end-to-end billing and collections processes, providing technical accounting support, and producing various financial reports for multiple entities within strict timeframes and to a high degree of accuracy.

  • Location: Sun Prairie, Wisconsin
  • Work Arrangement: This role is a hybrid role, where you will be expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week.
  • The starting salary for this role is between $100,000.00 and $150,000.00

Your New Role:

  • Responsible for the Review and preparation of financial, statutory or regulatory reports related to various reinsurance contracts and associated transactions
  • Perform budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Perform financial analysis of management and statutory reports.
  • Collaborate with Business Unit Senior Leaders in the forecasting and annual budget process.
  • Ensure consistency and effective suite of reports provided to business enabling management to monitor business profitability.
  • Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met.
  • Manage the preparation and maintenance of accurate accounting records following internal procedures and statutory requirements to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, codes of conduct and best practice guidelines.
  • Provide high-level advice, guidance and information on financial matters to support decision-making and improve understanding of financial management.
  • Manage the production of accurate financial returns required by internal and external bodies and regulators to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including internal and external auditors, to ensure service delivery meets customer expectations.

Work Experience:

Necessary Work Experience includes:

  • Some relevant work experience.

Preferred Work Experience includes:

  • experience in re/insurance, banking, and/or financial services industry with billing responsibilities, ideally with exposure to captives and LPT arrangements.
  • People management capabilities.
  • Understanding US re/insurance regulatory and statutory reporting requirements
  • Managing relationships with internal and external business stakeholders at a senior level.
  • Experience of reinsurance systems including Duck Creek Reinsurance, and supporting workflow tools including Alteryx highly preferred
  • Experience working with an offshore service centre with shifting schedules.
  • Successful track record in financial analysis, budgetary control, and supporting expenditure decisions.
  • Understanding of project lifecycle and process methodologies.
  • Identifying opportunities for systems changes and innovation.
  • Policy administration experience.
  • Project and change management experience.
  • Commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Working with 3rd party strategic partners.

Qualifications:

Necessary Qualifications include:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Certifications as an accountant.

Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate's professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE's annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.We encourage all candidates to apply, even if their salary expectations fall outside of this range, as we are committed to finding the right fit for our team.
