THE POSITION

Look no further, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is seeking a distinguished individual for the Roadway Programs Coordinator position, where your meticulous nature and superior organizational skills will be paramount in overseeing the reporting and security aspects of the Roadway Management System (RMS). DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be responsible for the organization and execution related to PennDOT's automated data collection, as well as the inventory and analysis of the pavement distress video logging program. It is essential to ensure alignment with management objectives, PennDOT guidelines, American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards, and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) specifications. Your duties will encompass preparing data from video logging vendors for mainframe uploads and resolving any issues related to uploads, including discrepancies in vendor and surface types.

Additionally, you will manage the video logging library, overseeing the storage and retrieval of media, approving requests for video logging data and products, and maintaining the facility. It is imperative to supervise the quality assurance (QA) program for video logging by processing QA images and evaluating pavement conditions in accordance with established policies. You will also be responsible for providing weekly reports to the video logging project manager and coordinating field operations for the QA Program, warranty projects, and other special requests, ensuring compliance with management objectives and PennDOT procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position may be eligible for an alternate work schedule (AWS).
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 6 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Roadway Programs Specialist or Roadway Programs Technician Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience in the analysis, development, and implementation of methods and techniques used in a roadway maintenance management system; and an associate's degree in a field of business administration, computer science, highway engineering technology or closely related program; or
  • One year of experience in the analysis, development, and implementation of methods and techniques used in a roadway maintenance management system; and a bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or civil engineering related discipline; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
