The Atlantaoffice of SmithGroupis looking for aSenior Interior Designerwith extensive experience working on medical facilities to join our team.

Working with us, you will:



  • Lead the design efforts for all stages of a medical facilities project, including leadership with the client, contractors, and internal team.
  • Assist in management of projects through developing project scope, schedules, job production, quality, and fee management.
  • Lead programming, conceptualization, development and integration of strategic design solutions for medical facilities.
  • Consult with manufacturers, research and evaluate materials.
  • Document architectural drawings.
  • Assist in construction administration including responding to RFI's, preparing sketches and addendums (CCD's), and visiting the construction site to gather information and/or prepare a punch list.
  • Oversee the design work of others to ensure integrated and cohesive design, supervise preparation of drawings for all project phases, and ensure guidelines, quality control, standards and details.
  • Lead all phases of the design process including programming and developing workplace standards.
  • Mentor junior staff and participate in performance coaching.
  • Participate in the recruitment and interviewing process as requested.



The ideal candidate has:



  • A bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience in interior design for medical facilities.
  • LEED AP preferred. Architectural or Interior Design registration required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign programs.
  • Technical competence and proven experience in schematic design through construction documents.
  • The ability to contribute and participate in an interdisciplinary team environment.

While we may ultimately pay more or less than a posted salary range, at the time of posting the anticipated salary range for this position is $81,000 to $89,000 annually and you are eligible for a performance-based bonus each year.
