Overview
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office. (Raleigh, NC, Morristown, NJ) This senior role requires a forward-thinking leader who can work independently while managing multiple moderately complex projects, products, and programs across their full delivery life cycle. The incumbent provides oversight of numerous concurrent initiatives and cross-functional teams (including coordination with external groups) in a scaled agile environment, aligning timelines and expectations across departments to achieve organizational goals while effectively managing risk. The Senior Agile Delivery Lead excels in agile execution at scale, guiding quarterly planning and continuous improvement efforts to drive successful delivery across teams and projects.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Alignment: Collaborate with business and technology leaders, enterprise PMOs, and product managers to ensure delivery objectives and product roadmaps are aligned with strategic business goals. Facilitate quarterly planning sessions (e.g., Scaled Agile Program Increment (PI) planning) and annual planning to translate strategic roadmaps into executable initiatives, ensuring that priorities are clear, and value delivery is maximized.
- Stakeholder & Leadership Engagement: Build and manage strong relationships with peer teams and senior leadership. Influence and contribute to defining organizational objectives, workforce plans, and key performance metrics. Champion adherence to established delivery processes and compliance requirements and promote the adoption of industry best practices and standards across the team.
- End-to-End Delivery Management: Oversee the complete delivery lifecycle for multiple projects and programs, ensuring teams are high performing and business objectives are met. Take ownership of defining project scope, maintaining multi-release roadmaps, managing budgets, staffing, and team capacity, and removing impediments for both project work and ongoing operational activities. Conduct regular team capacity planning reviews to optimize resource allocation and address any gaps or constraints proactively. Develop effective mechanisms to monitor project/program progress and performance, identifying risks, issues, or improvement areas early and implementing corrective actions.
- Cross-Team Coordination & Dependency Management: Drive collaboration across teams and departments to successfully deliver complex initiatives. Serve as the point person for managing inter-team dependencies and resolving blockers by coordinating with other internal teams and external partners. Provide visibility into team workloads and ensure any capacity constraints or dependencies are communicated and handled in a timely manner. Maintain a log of risks, actions, issues, and decisions (RAID log) for all initiatives, and work with stakeholders to mitigate risks, resolve issues, and document critical decisions and action items.
- Governance & Compliance Integration: Engage with technology governance, security, and risk management teams (e.g. IT governance committees, InfoSec, Privacy) to ensure all delivery activities and solutions comply with organizational policies and regulatory standards. Act as a liaison between the delivery teams and governance bodies to incorporate security and compliance checkpoints into project plans. Manage audit requests related to projects in your portfolio by coordinating evidence collection and responses and facilitate audit meetings to ensure thorough and timely resolution of any findings.
- Project Collaboration & Communication: Partner closely with other project managers and program leads to align platform deliverables and timelines with broader enterprise initiatives. Ensure that your application delivery stay on schedule, adjusting plans as necessary in coordination with stakeholders. Provide transparent and regular communication to leadership and relevant stakeholders on project status, key achievements, forthcoming milestones, risks, and mitigation plans, thereby setting and managing expectations effectively.
- Vendor Oversight: Negotiate and manage relationships with third-party vendors or consultants as needed, ensuring external resources are delivering value, meeting performance expectations, and integrating smoothly with internal teams.
- Operational Efficiency & Excellence: Continuously improve delivery operations by identifying process bottlenecks and inefficiencies. Implement enhancements and best practices that streamline workflows and accelerate delivery cycles without compromising quality. Ensure that delivery practices are consistent and in line with enterprise standards and controls, working with team members to standardize processes and uphold governance and compliance across all projects.
Qualifications
