About us

JLL's Corporate Sustainability Team is responsible for managing a globalprogram that achieves its sustainability ambitions. Our sustainability program consists of three priority areas - climate action, healthy spaces, and creating fair and inclusive spaces. We work to drive transformational change across the enterprise and steward JLL's corporate purpose.

The role

The Corporate Sustainability Team is seeking an experienced Sustainability Data Director to lead the firm's ESG data management and acquisition strategies with a focus on Scope 3 emissions.

Responsibilities

  • Data Strategy and Management:

  • Develop and execute a firm-wide ESG data management strategy, including the development and implementation of systems, tools and procedures to ensure the collection and on-going management of accurate and complete ESG data with a focus on Scope 3 emissions.

  • Create, manage, and continually refine JLL's data quality improvement roadmap to support the delivery of our net zero commitments and compliance with our mandatory reporting obligations.

  • Support the team's Director for Technology to integrate the data management strategy with our consolidated ESG data management and reporting platforms.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Lead transformative data management initiatives, collaborating with key internal functions and stakeholders to drive organizational change and build strategic initiatives to improve ESG data quality, governance, collection and management procedures across the firm's global operations.

  • Continuously improve ESG data controls, working with internal stakeholders including Internal Audit, Finance and Controllership to ensure data is auditable and prepared in accordance with the firm's internal control framework.

  • Strong communication skills with proven ability to convey complex data and reporting requirements to diverse stakeholders with varying levels of expertise.

  • Team mentality and experience building strong, professional relationships with global teams and corporate functions.

  • Confident decision maker with strong analytical skills and a proven track record in developing and implementing solutions.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to drive consistency in a team or on a project while working at speed.

  • Enthusiastic, self-starter who proactively identifies opportunities and independently drives projects to successful completion.

  • Excels in fast-paced, dynamic environments, showcasing adaptability and persistence to deliver results.

Education and Experience

  • 8+ years of experience managing ESG data, ideally for a Fortune 500 or similar company with a global footprint.

  • Practical experience designing ESG data collection systems and approaches to source ESG data, including knowledge of the GHG Protocol and Scope 3 estimation methodologies.

  • Prior experience applying the GHG Protocol and sector-specific emissions quantification guidelines related to the built environment is an asset.

  • Relevant experience planning and managing multi-stakeholder projects, including the ability to steer and coordinate internal stakeholders.

  • Familiarity working with ESG data collection, aggregation and reporting technologies such as Microsoft Sustainability Manager, Workiva and PowerBI.

  • Ability to collaborate with external auditors and prepare ESG data for both limited and reasonable assurance.

Other Requirements

Location:North America (with preference to Chicago, Toronto, Boston, Atlanta)

Work-Life Integration (WLI) Designation:1-2 days at the local office and the remainder of work week remote at home

Domestic & International Travel required: 1-3 times per year

Estimated total compensation for this position:

155,000.00 - 300,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
