We are seeking a Senior Receiving Inspection Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the quality and compliance of materials and assemblies sourced from both internal and external suppliers across multiple programs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) inspection and solder inspection, as well as a strong background in quality control and assurance processes. This opening is based in our Niwot, CO office and is a non-exempt, non-supervisory, full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspection and verification of incoming materials and assemblies, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, industry standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Perform detailed PCBA and solder inspections in accordance with IPC and J-STD soldering standards, ensuring the highest levels of workmanship and quality.
  • Analyze and document non-conformances in the non-conformance database, actively participating in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to drive corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods to track and analyze quality trends, contributing to data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) by conducting inspections, audits, and process validations.
  • Review and audit material and assembly documentation for accuracy, ensuring traceability and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and suppliers, to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Experiences and Background We Look For:

  • Print reading skills, including knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) .
  • Experience with PCBA and solder inspection, including training and/or experience with IPC and J-STD soldering standards and the ability to complete solder inspection training.
  • Minimum of two to four years of experience in quality control or quality assurance roles.
  • Strong ability to understand and interpret complex mechanical drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and the ability to generate reports and analyze data.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong knowledge of inspection equipment, qualification test methods, and measurement techniques for raw materials and assemblies.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in creating AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
  • Experience working in an ISO9000 or AS9100 production facility.
  • Experience with optical or laser part inspections.
  • Familiarity with Cost Point and TIPQA MRP software systems.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and related concepts.

The salary range for this role is $65,000 to $80,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.

U.S. citizenship is required to meet position eligibility.

Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
