Rapiscan, an OSI Systems Company is seeking a Manufacturing Manager, based out of Billerica, MA.

Rapiscan is a leading supplier of end-to-end security inspection solutions, utilizing multiple technologies and advanced threat identification algorithms based on X-ray and high-speed computed tomography imaging, ion mobility spectrometry, radiation detection, and optical inspection technologies. Our broad portfolio of products, services, and solutions helps customers in ports, borders, aviation, military, law enforcement, critical infrastructure, event security markets to solve complex security needs, including combatting terrorism, drug and weapon smuggling, and trade fraud. With our leading detection technology and vast industry knowledge, we meet demanding security requirements while offering customers outstanding value for their security screening and inspection operations. We have highly experienced technical, program management, and service teams to ensure customers receive a best-in-class experience throughout every phase of their project-from planning to deployment to post-installation support.

The Manufacturing Manager will provide leadership, guidance and management to a team of approximately 40 employees assembling and testing high mix, low volume, radiation detection, sub-assembly and backscatter equipment. This role will be responsible for quality, cost and delivery metrics focused on operational and business objectives and meeting revenue and profit targets. He/She will be accountable for the overall management of the operation in a highly visible position reporting into the Senior Director of Operations.

This role is an onsite position in Billerica, MA whereby the candidate will be responsible for multiple production value streams. In addition to managing the performance of the value streams, the manufacturing manager will be accountable to influencing supporting functions within the business such as engineering, program management, planning and supply chain.


Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and drive execution in manufacturing.
  • Meet and exceed key performance indicators associated with customer satisfaction, inventory accuracy and factory utilization.
  • Support the annual headcount planning process and budget submittals.
  • Manage capacity iteratively to successfully execute production plans and drive utilization targets.
  • Champion safety, quality and on time shipment to delight and exceed customers.
  • Manage employee talent pool including hiring and training of supervisors, assemblers and technicians, in a growth environment.
  • Implement the manufacturing operations strategy, monitor control systems and metrics to accurately measure progress and drive continuous improvement.
  • Maximizes efficiency, productivity and quality by analyzing process controls and capabilities, layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.
  • Leads lean manufacturing methodology, where appropriate, by reviewing operations, observing, planning, coordinating, and facilitating process improvement, and Kaizen teams.
  • Influences and leads across the organization to align and drive action within other departments.
  • Manage, evaluate and develop team of employees to meet functional deliverables and responsibilities.
  • Complete company people management requirements. Exhibit manager core competencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, industrial or mechanical degree preferred.
  • 8 years supervisory experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. Capability of managing up and communicating at a leadership level.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to present data clearly and to take action.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, leading passionate people, and acting as an effective change agent.
  • Capable of building strong relationships and influencing without authority.
  • Working experience with ERP systems, product life cycle management and ECO/NC systems.
  • Successful experience implementing ISO9001/AS9100 quality management systems.
  • An enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude thriving in a rapidly evolving environment.
