Summary Statement:

From strategic decision-assist to minute operational details, the Chief of Staff (CoS) combines comprehensive vision with a detail-oriented approach. The CoS serves as the right hand to the IDA President and works closely and cooperatively with the rest of the executive and leadership team.

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  1. Assists and communicates with executive team in decision-making, program management, and strategic business initiative implementation, including evaluating risk factors when making critical mission decisions.

Operational Efficiency:

  1. Works with the Executive team to review, design, and execute improvements to organizational structure; find knowledge and skills gaps and help address them; optimize organizational procedures for efficiency and productivity.
  2. Provides insights about and recommendations for organizational performance to the Executive team.
  3. Develops and builds on relationships with all employees for increased efficiency and responsiveness of existing operations, and helps define new operational strategies by working with President and other executives on special projects.

Executive Support:

  1. Acts as trusted advisor and confidant to the President.
  2. Coordinates and manages relationships with senior managers and department leaders, in addition to external partners. Acts on behalf of the President to answer and route inquiries as needed.
  3. Drafts and reviews correspondence, speeches, articles, and presentations on behalf of the President.
  4. Performs administrative tasks such as managing the President's calendar, as well as all preparation and reporting requirements related to the President's engagements, travel, and expenses.

Communication and Liaison

1. Serves as liaison with staff, executives, senior leaders, and President regarding company climate, employee well-being, project updates, etc.

2. Works with President to refine and execute the company's vision and mission, gather and analyze data, assess trends, and provide insights and recommendations.

Team Leadership:

  1. In conjunction with the Executive team, provides leadership for the Executive Assistant team, providing guidance and support, as well as fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  2. Provides occasional training and coaching for other staff members, including EA colleagues and Administrative Managers.
  3. Serves as the Executive Office Liaison for Social Crew Activities.

Board Support:

  1. Serves as the Assistant Board Secretary.
  2. Supports the General Counsel with Board responsibilities and assists the President in organizing Board meetings, including preparation of materials and logistical details. Attends meetings and, as needed, assists with minutes.

Special Projects:

  1. Coordinates special IDA events under auspices of President.
  2. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.

* Eight or more years of experience in position supporting executive teams, internal experience strongly preferred.

* Strong leadership qualities, including experience organizing and directing multiple teams.

* Sound judgment, decision-making and analytical skills, including successful navigation of organizational dynamics, strategic planning, and project management.

* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure, combined with attention to detail.

* Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality; able to effectively and diplomatically communicate orally and in writing; strong interpersonal skills.

* Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant business software.

* Must already have an active clearance, SECRET or above.

We support transparency, equity, and fairness in our compensation program and provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range based on data-driven market analysis for each position. While it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $119,000-$190,000. Individual salary within this range will be commensurate with the incumbent's experience, unique skills and qualifications, and other relevant factors.
