Junior Buyer

Nasco Education has a great opportunity for someone looking to learn and grow in a supply chain role. This position is responsible for procurement of products for our wholesale distribution business. Our company carries products used by schools to teach curriculum in a wide variety of subjects, including (but not limited to) Art, Science and dissection, Physical Education, Math, Reading, Consumer Sciences and more! We also continue to honor Nasco's history in the farming industry by offering a variety of farm supplies.

The duties of this position will include:

• Generating purchase orders using the company ERP system
• Maintaining purchasing records including supplier data and item details in the ERP system.
• Monitoring inventory levels to ensure compliance with our business plan while also considering current customer demand.
• Working with vendors to minimize backorders and avoid delays in filling customer orders.
• Expediting of purchase orders when needed.
• Collaborating with Marketing Product Managers on potential product selection and supplier performance.
• Working with other departments to resolve issues with products, availability, receipt issues, invoice issues, etc.
• Coordinating with others as needed to process return shipments.
• Using available tools to manage supplier performance.
• Championing the accountability for strategic goals on inventory levels, order fill rates, and cost control in assigned product/supplier group.

This position is based in Fort Atkinson but allows for remote/hybrid work with the understanding that onsite visits will be required on a routine basis for team collaboration. Nasco offers a broad range of benefits including Insurance benefits, 401k match, and tuition reimbursement.

Requirements

• Confident and professional communicator - both verbally and written.
• Ability to organize and manage tasks and projects.
• Strong computer skills, including a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Degree beyond high school preferred, or the equivalent in purchasing, inventory, or planning experience.
• Basic knowledge of procurement processes and how purchase orders are created and tracked.
• Familiarity with Inventory Management or Bills of Materials is a plus.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Strong preference towards data analytic skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
