DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Park Maintenance Worker, you will play a crucial part in the construction and maintenance of Worlds End State Park through semi-skilled manual labor. You will confidently handle daily tasks independently while collaborating effectively with coworkers on special projects. You will have opportunities to take the lead on these initiatives, showcasing your ability to drive results. Your responsibilities will encompass making essential repairs to buildings and facilities, utilizing tools from carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and other building trades. You will operate and maintain vehicles and equipment throughout the park, ensuring everything functions optimally. This includes building sturdy forms for cement work with carpenter tools, expertly mixing and placing cement, finishing with masonry tools, and constructing stone and block walls.
Additionally, you will be instrumental in installing, removing, and maintaining marina systems and courtesy docks, as well as assisting with repairs to watercraft and related equipment. Your ground maintenance duties will involve efficiently mowing and cutting weeds and grass using riding, hand, or weed eaters. You will take charge of cutting firewood, picking up litter and trash, loading and transporting materials in dump trucks or pickup trucks, cleaning grills, sweeping paved areas, digging holes and ditches, and maintaining drains and culverts. You will also prepare sites, seed and establish new turf areas, and plant and maintain trees and shrubs while effectively managing trail maintenance. You will provide invaluable support to maintenance personnel by executing general housekeeping and building maintenance tasks. This includes ensuring restrooms, pit latrines, offices, and all other buildings are clean and well-supplied. You will expertly handle minor routine repairs to park facilities, such as replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, and painting and staining park buildings, signs, and gates to maintain a polished and functional environment. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Seasonal Full-time employment without benefits.
- Shift hours and days vary due to operational need, with a 30-minute lunch
- Weekends, holidays, and all shifts as needed at 37.5 hours per week

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
