A Day In The Life This position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Risk Management and plays a pivotal leadership role in overseeing and advancing the organization's risk management strategies. This position is responsible for implementing programs and initiatives that enhance safety, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation across the company. The Manager, Risk Management will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive a culture of safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Additionally, this role will oversee one or more Regional Risk Supervisors, who will work in alignment with Fleet Operations counterparts to execute and manage key risk management responsibilities effectively. As a Manager, Risk Management you will:
- Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of risk management programs, including regulatory compliance, safety initiatives, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide leadership and direction to Regional Risk Supervisors, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Oversee risk management activities, including accident investigations, emergency response planning, and incident analysis.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA, FMCSA/DOT, and environmental regulations, ensuring adherence to industry and organizational standards.
- Conduct root cause analyses for incidents and implement corrective action plans to mitigate future risks.
- Partner with key stakeholders, including HR, Fleet Operations, and Legal, to drive compliance initiatives and foster a strong safety culture.
- Utilize data analysis and reporting tools to identify trends, assess risks, and develop strategic action plans for risk reduction.
- Oversee claims processing, incident reporting, and documentation related to accidents and injuries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of Business Continuity and Environmental Compliance programs.
- Maintain up-to-date policies and procedures, providing regular updates and strategic insights to senior leadership.
What We Need From You
- Bachelor's Degree Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Pref
- 5-7 years Progressive leadership experience. Preferred
- 5-7 years Progressive experience in risk management, safety, or compliance, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry. Required
