Job Summary TYLin City Solutions is a leading transportation engineering, planning, and environmental group known nationally for our ability to solve complex transportation problems with creative, multi-modal solutions. Our work includes diverse, high-profile projects for both private and public sector clients. We are currently seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer for our New York City office.

We are currently seeking an experienced, creative, and detail-oriented Senior Transportation Engineer who is eager to work on a wide variety of transportation projects for both private and public sector clients including traffic impact analysis, traffic simulation/modeling, neighborhood transportation and parking studies, multimodal planning and analyses, complete streets design, signing and striping design, traffic management plans for special events or construction, maintenance and protection of traffic plans, and safety studies. Responsibilities may include working closely with agency clients maintaining facility operations, traffic and pedestrian flow, and excellent transportation-related customer service during multiple phases of large-scale infrastructure construction. The successful candidate will lead projects and tasks from initiation to completion, train junior staff, and contribute to business development and marketing activities such as writing proposals and attending industry events. Responsibilities & Qualifications

The candidate must be able to work collaboratively with staff across multiple offices, manage priorities, think creatively, and meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or transportation engineering
  • 5-12 years of experience in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning
  • Registered professional engineer (PE) in any state
  • High proficiency in Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, and/or Vissim
  • Expert user of Excel
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoTURN software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Experience managing transportation projects, including management of staff, budgets, and clients, and anticipating/representing client needs and interests
  • Ability to interpret/synthesize data of disparate sources into a cohesive singular perspective
  • Proficiency with using standard transportation technical manuals and procedures including the MUTCD, AASHTO, HCM, CEQR Technical Manual.
  • Ability to commute to the office at least three days per week
  • Authorization to work in the US
  • Valid United States driver's license strongly preferred
  • Certain projects may entail occasional travel (<=5%)

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of$92,000 - $138,000 annually for this position and local market. We recognize that each candidate brings a unique set of skills, experience, education and competencies to the table that will be reflected in our offer.
