Department Information
The Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering has quietly resided among the top 5 aerospace engineering schools in the country for more than a decade -attracting the best minds to study on our Atlanta campus. With a faculty of more than 40 tenure-track professors and 35 administrative staff, and enrollment of more than1,300, the School brings both breadth and depth to its research, scholarship, and instruction that few institutions can match.The Aerospace Engineering School at Georgia Tech is currently ranked #2 (Sept. 2023) in the nation for undergraduate programs and #2 (June 2024) in the nation for graduate programs.

Job Summary

Facilitate and coordinate building operations within an assigned facility. Includes coordination of building maintenance and repairs, office moves, delivery and installation of furniture and equipment., building access control and deliveries. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: building occupants and visitors, department heads, contractors and vendors. This position typically will advise and counsel: contractors, vendors and visitors. This position will supervise: NA.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Manage building maintenance functions (both routine and emergency); ensure activities are carried out in a complete and timely manner.

Job Duty 2 -
Arrange for office moves within facility; ensure they are carried out as scheduled

Job Duty 3 -
Coordinate delivery and installation of building equipment

Job Duty 4 -
Maintain building access control system including card entry and office key management

Job Duty 5 -
Facilitate arrangements of special events scheduled for facility

Job Duty 6 -
Order building repair services as needed

Job Duty 7 -
Coordinate outside vendor/contractor services

Job Duty 8 -
Coordinate annual equipment inventory and maintain related records

Job Duty 9 -
Manage and update emergency preparedness plan for facility(facilities) and all related documents and procedures

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma

Other Required Qualifications
Valid Georgia Driver's License Work involves adherence to applicable safety precautions. Typically requires lifting objects up to 25 pounds and standing for extended periods of time.

Required Experience
Three to five years job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with building maintenance, troubleshooting, and laboratory equipment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond to urgent facility needs.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, emergency response planning, and compliance standards.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, balancing immediate facility needs with long-term projects.
  • Familiarity with maintenance scheduling and access control systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires skills in organization, communications, staging operations, general building maintenance processes and scheduling. Use of office related computer applications is required.

Salary range: $58,000.00 - $70,000.00
