Position Description

We are seeking a Vice President, Institutional Channel Marketing Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping and executing dynamic channel marketing strategies designed to drive revenue growth and elevate brand visibility across the US Institutional, FIG, and Retirement sectors. This position calls for a strategic visionary with a robust background in channel marketing, partner management, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of alternative investment platforms, particularly within the defined benefit sector, and a keen insight into the engagement preferences of US Institutional clients.

In this role, you will develop channel-specific marketing strategies, define and execute channel marketing plans, and enable client-facing teams with compelling, best-in-class sales collateral to support PIMCO investments. The ideal candidate will combine an investor-centric mindset, investment knowledge, and a keen understanding of distribution processes to lead engaging channel marketing efforts. You will leverage your deep understanding of the target audience, as well as your knowledge of the competitor landscape and the nuances of the audience, to create timely and relevant content.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Channel Development: Manage relationships with key channel partners, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to promote PIMCO's alternative investment platform effectively across various marketing tactics, including digital channels.

  • Content Development: Leverage your expertise to assist in developing and recommending timely and relevant content that translates our thought leadership and market insights into actionable strategies tailored for specific sales channels, reflecting PIMCO's commitment to delivering value to our clients.

  • Marketing Programs and Campaign Leadership: Design and execute marketing programs and campaigns tailored to channel partners, including email campaigns, paid media, social media initiatives, and training programs that resonate with US Institutional clients, FIG, and Retirement sectors. Lead campaigns for the institutional client segments, sometimes leveraging broader global campaign plans, ensuring relevance for the audience, and improving client engagement across each stage of the life cycle.

  • Product Promotion: Package and promote investment products, insights, and themes across multiple asset classes and channels.

  • Relationship Building: Build positive and productive relationships with the Institutional client-facing team to facilitate communication, proactively find opportunities and challenges, and partner on marketing efforts.

  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze channel performance metrics, utilizing data and analytics to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement and optimization of marketing efforts. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for Global Digital, Channel, and Marketing leadership.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with client management, product management, global digital, multimedia, and other departments to ensure cohesive messaging and alignment of marketing strategies across all channels, enhancing engagement with target audiences and embodying PIMCO's values of teamwork and integrity.

  • Mentoring: Mentor channel marketing associates, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability while enhancing presentation skills across the team, in line with PIMCO's commitment to professional development.

  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to inform channel marketing strategies and initiatives, particularly focusing on the preferences of US Institutional clients. Partner with the Brand and Client Experience team to lead research initiatives that monitor and evaluate our client engagement tactics.

  • Innovation and Optimization: Continuously seek opportunities to elevate and raise the bar in our marketing efforts. Be innovative and creative in optimizing our strategies to enhance client engagement and drive impactful marketing initiatives.

  • Market Awareness: Stay abreast of the changing market environments, ensuring channel needs are anticipated and opportunities are addressed in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree. A CAIA, CFA, or other industry designation is desirable.

  • 8-15 years of institutional channel marketing experience. Alternatively, prior experience within sales or as an institutional consultant focused on defined benefit or alternatives, or a combination thereof, and the willingness to learn marketing.

  • Strong understanding of channel dynamics and partner ecosystems.

  • Extensive knowledge of investment products and services, including fixed income, with the ability to translate complex concepts into timely, client-friendly, engaging content.

  • Superior interpersonal and relationship-building skills, including the ability to work effectively in various team settings and influence senior partners.

  • Strong written communication skills - delivering a compelling message with brevity.

  • Outstanding project management and prioritization skills, with experience leading strategic and tactical marketing initiatives.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and navigate multiple stakeholders and competing objectives.

  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to learn new concepts quickly, and complete multiple and diverse assignments with the highest level of quality.

  • Affinity for, or direct experience with, data, analytics, sales enablement, marketing automation, and segment marketing.

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
Salary Range: $ 150,000.00 - $ 225,000.00
