A Brief Overview
The Supervisor, Data Science & Analytics position will provide oversight and direction for designing, implementing, and supporting data science, analytics, and information for the pediatric services of University Hospitals Health System in partnership with the Chief Quality Officer for the Rainbow System of Care. This position will supervises a team responsible for scientific exploration of clinical information and data analytics to support internal and external Rainbow Babies & Children Hospital Quality initiatives. The supervisor will mentor and develop team members, manage project timelines, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while having a very high technical expertise. What You Will Do
- Oversee day-to-day operations of a assigned team, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality deliverables.
- Supervise and perform the creation of analytics and scientific exploration related to risk modeling, financial performance, and quality of care
- Provide guidance, training, and support to team members, helping them grow their technical skills and advance in their careers.
- Assign and monitor project tasks, ensuring that data analysis projects are completed on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
- Develop the documentation and process to identify and develop metrics, targets, and data solutions that initiatives.
- In collaboration with information services, oversees the architecture of a clinical integration approach for disparate data systems including use of enterprise data warehouse, external information from participation in regional and national quality initiatives and collaboratives (e.g., PHIS, EIIC/RPPN/ASPR initiatives), and any future systems that are needed.
- Provides content expertise in the field of processes and systems to extract knowledge or insights from data, either structured or unstructured, using statistics, machine learning, data mining, and predictive analytics. Appropriately leverages big data techniques in exploration of healthcare analytics and technologies. Serves as a subject matter expert on health care data modeling, system architecture, data governance, and business intelligence tools. - Oversee the development/design of new analytics/reporting systems to include visual dashboards and other direct to provider information. Create technical interfacing between analytics/dashboard directly to provider portal/websites or mobile devices for up-to-date reporting for providers. Provides planning in reimaging the intersection of data and information supporting clinical, quality, and research services
- Serve as co-lead of research/grant analytics domain associated with ASPR, EIIC, and RPPN grants or future grants that utilize quality improvement science and data analytics as the core to driving improved outcomes. Support grant committees and leadership by having a strong understanding of healthcare data interoperability and regulations.
- Evaluate new technology to support evolving data & information requirements of quality improvement initiatives and ASPR/EIIC/RPPN grant initiatives.
- Support of care coordination by supplying information related to registry, patient information and other operational requirements to internal or external services.
