Spring Harbor Hospital isseekinga Charge Nurse in our2 West Adult Psychiatric Unit. This unit is a 24-bed general adult psychiatric unit that services patients who experience acute psychiatric illnesses and any co-occurring disorders. Treatment emphasizes return-to-work strategies and cognitive therapies to help patients transition smoothly from the hospital to the community and in the shortest possible time. Most patients transition from an inpatient hospital such as Maine Medical Center or Southern Maine Healthcare as well as from different facilities across the state of Maine. This nurse will provide care, assessments and interventions in an individual and milieu setting. Our dynamic learning environment encourages leadership, shared governance, and opportunity to grow. We provide a robust career ladder and the ability to explore the clinical side of mental health as part of our collaborative and multidisciplinary team. In most cases the units staffing patterns include 4 registered nurses and 4 psych technicians during the day and evening shifts and 2 registered nurses and 2 psych technicians on the overnight shifts. Summary: The Registered Nurse - Charge - Behavioral Health role assumes frontline leadership in the daily operations of the department and works collaboratively with departmental staff, physicians/advanced practice practitioners, hospital staff, pre-hospital providers and community agencies to provide oversight and direction for the delivery of safe patient and family centered care.
