Overall Purpose: Under semi-direct supervision, to safely operate various types material handling equipment including CDL required vehicles. To serve as a warehouse worker, picking, staging and performing the appropriate transactions in the Enterprise Resource Planning/Warehouse Management System (ERP/WMS) systems. To perform assigned work in a safe and timely manner. Collaborating and assisting teammates when needed. May require work to be performed on a continual and recurring nature at varying degrees of time.
Job Responsibilities: Responsible and accountable to receive, reclaim, issue, record, store, stage and transact all stock and non-stock materials, supplies and equipment both physically and electronically in the ERP/WMS system.
Responsibleto identify and count materialsand have accountability for inventory accuracy both physically and in the ERP/WMS system. Accurately communicate details of material transactions as appropriate to Storekeeper, Material Controller and Supervision.
Responsible and accountable forsafe proper handling, processing, and documentation of PCB contaminated materials, PCB materials, Universal waste, and Hazardous Waste Material according to regulatory agencies and Duquesne Light Company procedures.
Responsible and accountable for thesafe proper handling, receivingand documentation of returned materials and equipment. Properly segregating of the items into shop evaluate, save/reclaim, or scrap/recycle categories.
Responsible and accountable for safe, secure and proper storage, handling and labeling of all materials, supplies and equipment.
Responsible and accountable for the accurate and efficient preparation, loading, load securement, distribution and unloading of materials, supplies and equipment to and from various destinations.
Responsible and accountable for all administrative documentation including pre-trip and post trip vehicle evaluations, placarding, manifests, shipping papers, ensuring state registration and inspection, and insurance when transporting materials over the road or between contiguous DLC sites.
Performs all work in accordance with DOT, EPA, RCRA and Duquesne Light Company rules, regulations and procedures.
Responsible and accountable for the safe operation and inspection of all company equipment used in the material handling and distribution processes.
Responsible and accountable for the safe operation of the pole crane and overhead crane for loading and unloading poles and other material.
Instructs or trains personnel when appropriate, including using stop work authority if necessary.
Responsible and accountable forownsafety, team member safety when working together, and following DLC safety rules and guidelines.Maintainsgood housekeeping, cleaning and organizing throughout the entire workplace including vehicles.
Performs other related duties as required or assigned. Education / Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must possess a CDL Class "A" License with endorsements X (HazMat and Tanker).Must not have any of the following restrictions: L (air brakes), K (intrastate only), O (combination), Z (full air brakes). Otherwise, qualified individuals can be considered without Hazardous Materials and Tanker endorsement and given 4 months to obtain.
Must pass the company administered standardized aptitude test (SASS)
Must have the ability to operate a fork truck (up to 16 ton) and pass the written and demonstration examinations.
Ability to properly and safely perform lifting, carrying, and lowering, and handling of various sizes, shapes and weight of materials up to 50 lbs.
3 years class A CDL driving experience or must pass a company administered CDL driving evaluation.
