This position is an integral part of the plant supply chain. The incumbent works with the production departments to determine the resources necessary to meet the production schedule and coordinates with corporate production and materials planning personnel in a team effort to ensure the needed resources/materials to meet those schedules.



Responsibilities

The Planning and Materials Supervisor supports directs and over sees production planning efforts under the general supervision of the plant Supply Chain Manager. They are responsible to oversee the and is responsible for managing, ordering and forecasting raw materials needs for the plant.

    Supervise and coordinate the development and publishment of production schedules in support of customer demands, required ship times, and scheduling guidelines for the lamination manufacturing process. Ensures work orders are always available for use by the shop floor associates.
  • Work with the Shipping associates to develop and communicate shipping schedules for all parts requested for OEM and Service customers. Plan and determine the best use of resources from shipping and receiving to optimize the activities to be done on the plant on a recurrent basis.
  • Review, analyze, and manage current and future customer demands and their impact on the production schedule, direct material inventory, and process capacity.
  • Take part in and help manage the product launch process from the supply chain perspective.
  • Monitor and communicate impacts to supply chain dynamically as a result of production performance both positive and negative.
  • Generate forecasts, purchase orders, and delivery schedules for direct materials suppliers related to the lamination process. Communicate and work with the Receiving associates to align deliveries with receiving schedule and production schedule.
  • Manage part master data including bill of materials, revision changes, new part launches.
  • Communicate changes in demand and associated impact to schedule, direct materials, and planned customer shipments in an effective and timely manner in effort to minimize impact to manufacturing process.
  • Monitor, manage, and report status of compliance to customer delivery requirements as seen in customer portals and systems.
  • Monitor and manage production run lengths and inventory on hand to correspond with inventory budget targets.
  • Develop and report out KPIs related to the planning and demand management function of the supply chain.
  • Comply with all VITRO EHS policies and procedures and relevant governmental regulations. Use good safety judgment and awareness at all times.
  • Oversees and make sure the effectiveness of the cycle count process in the plant, as well as making analysis and decisions related to inventory adjustments. Drive activities to resolve practices deviations that potentially create inventory variations.
  • Comply with all VOPEX activities and audit activities for Supply Chain department.
  • Perform internal audits, such as 5S and 4M.


Qualifications

A bachelor or engineering degree diploma required with specialty in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics or International Commerce preferred.

In addition, must have minimum of one year of planning experience. Supervisor experience preferred.

The incumbent must have the ability to use proficiently the Company's systems to be able to run reports and analyze data to make decisions and report to upper management.

S/he must also demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and have strong verbal and written communications skills to maintain positive interactions with personnel from different areas in the plant and vendors, as well as creating effective presentations of information for top level management.

The incumbent must demonstrate proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and PowerBI.
