Teamvantage, a Velosity Company is searching for an Estimator to support our manufacturing facility in Forest Lake, MN. The Estimator is responsible for facilitating the part and tooling quotation process from RFQ receipt of requirements to developing a successful quote plan to producing the final quote for any opportunity that comes to Velosity.

This is an on-site position supporting our Forest Lake location.

Shift: 1st Shift

The typical pay range for this role: $67,219 - $100,828 per year. This role is also eligible for a 5% quarterly bonus target.

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, internal equity and other relevant factors.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in the injection molding plastic industry with emphasis in accounting, tooling, or engineering.
  • Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • 5+ yrs experience working in the injection molding manufacturing environment ideally in an area related to engineering, tooling, processing, or accounting disciplines.
  • Understanding of injection molding plastic product development, manufacturing, and mold build processes required.
  • Able to solve practical problems and evaluate costs and pricing to provide the best solution. Experience with cost estimating preferred.
  • Working knowledge required for Microsoft Office products and CAD platforms (Solidworks/Creo/Solidview) for quote generation purposes. Experience with the IQMS/Epicore Quoting Module preferred.
  • Methodical in work processes and able to work effectively within a team and collaboratively with customers, vendors and other departments.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to work independently with limited supervision to meet deadlines
  • To be able to perform daily tasks safely.

Essential Duties:
  • Develop new and modified tooling and part price quotations for accuracy and completeness within the agreed upon due dates, that meet the customer intent with an internal work methodology that ensures Velosity's execution success.
  • Schedule quote kickoffs, reviews, and meetings as needed to ensure customer expectations are clearly defined and understood, and Velosity concerns are mitigated.
  • Work effectively with both internal resources and external suppliers to define requirements and obtain quotes as required for input into final quotes.
  • Review quotes with sales and other internal stakeholders as required to ensure continuity from RFQ to the final customer quote.
  • Maintain electronic quote folder accuracy and ensure RFQ log stays updated per established procedures.
  • Work cooperatively with all employees
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Physical & Mental Demands:

  • Walking is required within the office/shop areas. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance. Must be able to lift 10 pounds and move objects in a safe manner using proper equipment. Must have dexterity with hands.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within a timely manner (results oriented); Ability to make decisions with limited information.

Work Environment:

This is a non-smoking, professional manufacturing shop with normal lighting and climate control. This position may require one to move throughout the shop and office and may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors as would be customary in an injection molding/ Precision Machining shop.

Protective Clothing Required:

When in certain locations of the facility, eye and ear protection are required. Closed-toed/ Slip resistant shoes are also required in certain locations.
