Epson America is a leading manufacturer in the printer, professional imaging, projector, scanner, system devices, and factory automation categories. The Sr. Customs Coordinator is responsible for reviewing the entries of Import/Export for appropriate HTS classification, clearing US Customs entries for all inbound and outbound shipments as needed, and serving as consultant regarding US Customs and relevant supply chain activity. Collaborates with key customers including US Customs and all other government related offices, Epson America Warehouses, Product Management and Customer Account Services. This position is based out of Epson America's headquarters in Los Alamitos, with an opportunity for a hybrid schedule. What you will be doing: Document Preparation
- Assists with research of tariff classification for imported/exported products.
- Reviews complicated daily orders placed on export hold, recommends if order can be released, and releases order as approved (e.g., dealing with a regulated chemical, denied person/country, controlled software).
- Collaborates with Product Management and Customer Account Services to resolve supply chain matters.
- Clears inbound and outbound shipments with US Customs by using the appropriate system programs.
Compliance
- Maintains the company's low risk importer status with US Customs by ensuring adequate customs compliance controls exist.
- Audits import/export files for accuracy.
- Coordinate with warehouses regarding delivery orders and container pick up.
- Reviews and flags entries that require post import valuation adjustments as part of EAI's participation in US Customs' reconciliation program.
- Evaluates feasibility of future US Customs programs of which EAI has been requested to participate.
Administrative Support
- Coordinate with freight forwarders regarding export documentation and completeness of shipper's export declarations (SED) as needed.
- Position requires overtime during peak times and when customer requirements change
Relationship Management
- Builds strong relationships with peers, other departments, and managers to best meet company goals and objectives.
What you will bring:
- 5- 8 years of customs brokerage related experience
- Customs Brokers License desired
- Experience within a corporate environment
- Completion of an undergraduate degree or equivalent experience (B.A or B.S)
- Understanding all the elements of an import and export customs desk
- Understanding of transportation and brokerage documents
- Proactive in resolving problems and taking initiative to see them through
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability, thriving in dynamic environments and adjusting to changing priorities and tasks as needed.

The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $58,968 and $77,422. Please note that this position's salary range may include multiple levels. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.
