Description:

    Synergy BIS seeking a dynamic, innovative, Data Platform Consultant to support solution efforts within Federal programs. As a Data Platform Consultant at Synergy, you will be part of Synergy's Analytics Practice and deployed to teams supporting Federal Department and Agency Chief Information and Data Officers (CIO/CDO). Under the direction of a Synergy Project Manager and Program Technical Lead and with support from other Synergy Analytics leadership, you will collaborate with customer Data Services teams to execute projects related to data modernization and management with a focus on the Snowflake cloud data platform. The ideal candidate brings knowledge of data management best practices, expertise in Snowflake, and a customer-first consultative approach and energy to function as a data and analytics leader within Synergy teams.
    Specific Responsibilities Include:
    • Function as a subject matter expert for Snowflake platform implementations
    • Define solutions, estimate costs, and present to customers for acceptance
    • Setup new Snowflake services, onboard tenants, and onboard data sets
    • Lead customer migration efforts of on-premises hosted databases into Snowflake
    • Manage Snowflake platform across multiple environments (Development, Test, Stage, Production)
    • Perform, provide guidance, and recommend improvements to Snowflake account management practices (create users, delete users, manage permissions)
    • Create and manage data products using Snowflake in concert with customers
    • Set organizational context for Snowflake security, privacy, and product notifications
    • Support AWS ETL pipelines used to interface with data platforms and connected systems
    • Manage and track consumption and contribute to customer chargeback modeling
    • Implement enhancements and perform day-to-day maintenance of data platforms (incidents, tasks, changes)
    • Define and maintain standard operating procedures using industry best practices
    • Coordinate across multiple operations teams to implement complex solutions for agency customers
    Required Qualifications & Experience:
    • 6 years of experience
    • Bachelor's Degree
    Required Skills, Qualifications and Certifications of Best Candidates:
    • Ability to clearly communicate and present technical findings to team members, customers, and stakeholders
    • Experience working in an agile environment and coordinating across multiple teams to achieve business results for client engagements
    • Experience collaborating with functional and technical leads in a high-performing team
    • Experience in mentoring and training junior team members on data platform capabilities, features, and tools
    • Experience using Snowflake as a data platform for data sharing, analytics, and application development
    • Experience with Oracle databases (on-premises and/or in-cloud)
    • Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools such as Tableau, Snowsight, and/or PowerBI for reporting and dashboarding
    • Experience working with data warehouses / lakes / lakehouses for transactional and analytic use cases
    • Experience with Python scripting
    • Experience with SQL development
    • Understanding of data management concepts including data modeling, ETL processing, master data management, data cataloging, and data governance
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, and SharePoint
    • Ability to execute in a remote work environment
    • Experience with Federal government customers
    Desired Skills, Qualifications and Certifications:
    • Experience in mentoring and training junior team members on data platform capabilities, features, and tools
    • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining data warehouses and data lakes
    • Exposure to AWS services such as S3, EC2. DMS, RDS, and Glue
    • Experience with Linux administration and scripting
    • Experience with DevOps processes to automate deployment using Ansible and/or GitLab
    • Ability to create project documentation (e.g., SOP) and status reports (e.g., weekly progress)
    • SnowPro Core Certification
    • SnowPro Advanced: Data Engineer Certification
    • SnowPro Advanced: Administrator Certification
    • AWS Solutions Architect Associate
    Citizenship or Work Authorization Required: US Citizen, ability to obtain Public Trust clearance

    Preferred Education & Experience: 10 years of experience with 6 years of technical experience, or 4 years' experience in IT Solutions at senior management (preferred) and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management (IM), Information Technology, Engineering.

    Compensation for roles at Synergy varies depending on a wide variety of factors including but not limited to the requirements of the role; education and certifications; knowledge, training, skills and abilities; level of experience; geographic location; and alignment with market data, law, and other business and organizational needs. As required by local law, the posted pay range represents the lowest to the highest pay that Synergy believes in good faith it might pay for this particular job, depending on the circumstances. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

    A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is: $110,000 - $140,000

    Essential Job Function Physical Requirements: The physical requirements of this position are critical in evaluating the qualifications and abilities of an applicant or employee.
