Job Overview: *Experience in the utility industry is a huge plus for this role.* The Project Financial Analyst will support the IT organization by coordinating, analyzing, developing, preparing, and managing operating (expense) and capital budgets, financial forecasts, and cost management activities. They will also contribute to building a culture of accurate financial reporting and tracking for both individual projects and a portfolio of projects. This role is 100% remote.
Key Responsibilities: * Financial Governance: Ensure accurate financial tracking and forecasting for projects and portfolios, including CapEx vs. OpEx allocation. * Financial Tracking: Develop and maintain financial trackers, supply monthly actuals, facilitate UVL/Accrual processing, and ensure monthly reporting. * Portfolio Reporting: Mature financial tracking and reporting capabilities for multiple projects and consolidated portfolios. * Work Orders: Request Work Orders for approved capital projects and maintain project tracking worksheets. * Financial Analysis: Generate and analyze portfolio-level financial reports to support strategic decision-making. * Process Improvement: Identify and drive process improvements, including creating standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and dashboards. * Executive Communication: Present executive-level communications on portfolio/key projects. * Collaboration: Work closely with Portfolio Delivery Managers and Project Managers to ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment with project objectives. * Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies. * Ad Hoc Reporting: Develop complex reports in response to special requests. Qualifications: * Experience: Minimum of 5 years as an IT Financial Analyst, with experience in JD Edwards, financial budgeting, forecasting, accruals processing, and tracking of actuals. * Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field. * Skills: Proficiency in Oracle PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, financial reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. High accuracy and attention to detail. * Technical Proficiency: Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions, SharePoint, PowerBI, and *SQL *querying. Experience with SQL is essential for extracting, manipulating, and analyzing large datasets to provide accurate financial insights and reports. The ability to write complex SQL queries will be crucial for generating detailed financial reports and supporting data-driven decision-making. * Industry Experience: Prior experience with gas or electric utilities preferred; related industrial experience considered. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $85.00/hr.
