MaineHealth Corporate

The Legal Assistant role works with department attorneys to perform responsibilities in one or more of the following areas as assigned: corporate record keeping, insurance program administration, contract assembly and editing, subpoena management, employment law, real estate or litigation support. This role will also provide administrative support to attorneys including calendar management, document organization and filing, correspondence management and communication with clients.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree or successful completion of an Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies or equivalent program required.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: See "Education" Multiple years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in a law firm or equivalent setting required. Experience in managing corporate record books and corporate filings, assembling and editing contracts or supporting employment or other litigation preferred based on assigned attorneys and business need.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Excellent verbal and written communication skills including editing and proofreading skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
